About AutoVA

AutoVA is an analytics and operations platform for multi-channel sellers. Connect your eBay account to see unified profit, fees, COGS, fulfillment, and customer activity alongside your other marketplaces — all in a single workspace.

What We Do With the eBay APIs

After a seller connects their account via OAuth 2.0, AutoVA uses the eBay Sell APIs (Fulfillment, Inventory, Account, Marketing) and the Commerce Identity API to:

  • Read account profile, business policies, and registered marketplaces.
  • Read inventory items, listings, offers and variations.
  • Read orders, line items, payments, shipping addresses and tracking.
  • Read fees, transactions and payout reports for accounting analytics.
  • Read promotions, markdowns and coupons applied to orders.
  • Write fulfillments and tracking numbers when the seller marks an order as shipped.
  • Write inventory and listing updates on the seller's explicit request.
3

OAuth Scopes Requested

  • sell.fulfillment — read orders and write fulfillments / tracking.
  • sell.inventory — read and update inventory, offers and listings.
  • sell.account — read seller account, business policies and registration.
  • sell.marketing — read promotions, markdowns and coupons.
  • sell.finances — read transactions, fees and payouts for accounting.
  • commerce.identity.readonly — identify the connected eBay user.

How We Store eBay Data

All eBay data is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. Row-level security policies enforce strict per-seller isolation: a workspace owner and the team members they invite can only ever access data belonging to accounts connected by that workspace. OAuth refresh tokens are stored encrypted and rotated automatically. Buyer payment-card data is never requested, transmitted, or stored.

5

Retention and Deletion

eBay data is retained for as long as the account remains connected. When a seller disconnects an account from AutoVA, the account is soft-deleted immediately and all associated eBay data is purged within 30 days.

AutoVA is compliant with eBay's Marketplace Account Deletion / Closure notification workflow: we host a verified notification endpoint, validate each delivery, and remove all data associated with the affected eBay user within 30 days of the notification.

6

Rate Limit Compliance

  • Every request sends an identifying User-Agent header (AutoVA/1.0) for traceability.
  • We track each API's daily call allowance and slow polling per account as the cap approaches.
  • On HTTP 429 we honor the Retry-After header and apply a per-account cooldown.
  • 5xx responses trigger exponential backoff with jitter.
  • Sync work is batched and deduplicated; an EMA-based scheduler avoids redundant polls.
  • Failed token refreshes use a 3-strike policy before a connection is marked broken.
  • All API usage per account is logged internally for audit.
7

Sharing

eBay data is never sold, never shared with third parties for marketing, and is only accessible to team members the workspace owner explicitly invites. Internal staff access is limited to support cases the seller opens.

8

Compliance and Contact

AutoVA complies with the eBay API License Agreement and the eBay Developer Program agreement, including Marketplace Account Deletion notification requirements.
